Introduction
Welcome to the fifth volume of Not from Here. As with the other books in this series, volume five explores the stranger and more unusual aspects of the UFO phenomenon. Once again, my goal is to present a broad spectrum of UFO accounts, providing the reader with accounts covering the entire gamut of the phenomenon.
This book, however, has a unique feature that none of the other previous volumes have. The previous volumes were drawn from the more than 100 articles I have written over thirty-five years of UFO research. This book contains almost entirely new and original material. Only one chapter was previously published as an article, and it has been expanded to more than twice its original size.
I’m particularly proud of the Not from Here volumes because they contain information and cases that are little known, difficult to find, and often defy the standard model of contact. Most of the chapters in this book explore avenues of research that have received very little or no attention. Each chapter provides, I hope, unique insights into the nature, origin, and behavior of the UFO phenomenon.
Chapter One, UFO Swarms, explores a rare type of UFO encounter. Most UFO sightings involve one to five objects. A much smaller minority involve ten or twenty. The rarest of all are encounters that involve scores of objects -- fifty, a hundred, or in a few cases hundreds. These massive super-fleet cases are so rare as to be statistically insignificant. And yet, there are enough to provide strong evidence that there are a lot more UFOs out there than most people realize.
While UFOs are attracted to certain areas, other cases seem random. But what if you could call down a UFO and actually initiate an encounter? Chapter Two, Calling All UFOs, reveals a simple method anyone can use to call down a UFO, a method that is supported by multiple eyewitness testimonies. CE5’s (human initiated encounters) are now at the forefront of UFO research. It’s cases like these that helped to inspire the CE5 movement of human-initiated encounters.
There is a huge misconception among UFO skeptics that astronomers never see UFOs. In fact, the exact opposite is true. Multiple studies show that astronomers are more likely to see UFOs than the average person. And as it turns out, there is a surprisingly long list of professional astronomers who have seen UFOs. Chapter Three, When Astronomers See UFOs, presents several sightings by well-known and highly respected astronomers. This chapter provides great ammunition to present to those diehard skeptics who still remain disbelieving of the UFO presence on our planet.
UFO encounters can happen anywhere. One location, however, seems very unlikely: a UFO conference! But the fact is, there are now several cases on record in which UFOs and aliens have shown up at UFO conferences. Chapter Four, Aliens at UFO Conferences, explores this very unusual aspect of UFO visitations. Do the ETs know that people are gathering to talk about them? Are they showing themselves at conferences on purpose? As these cases show, the answer appears to be a resounding, yes!
The subject of UFOs has saturated our culture. It appears in music, film, books, advertising, food products, video games...the list goes on. It is one of the most popular subjects on the world wide web, and appears in virtually all forms of media. It is hugely popular on television, as evidenced by the growing number of reality TV programs. So, it should come as no surprise that UFOs have often been featured on one of the most popular types of television programs: situation comedies. Chapter Five, UFOs and the American Sitcom, explores how the subject of UFOs has been portrayed in situation comedies in the United States, and what this treatment of the subject has to say about how our culture views the UFO phenomenon. And a little spoiler alert: it says a lot!
Chapter Six, The Twin Connection, reveals a strange and little explored facet of ufology: the fact that there appears to be a high incidence of twins among the contactee population. The question is, why? Does this indicate a fascination with human genetics? And what about the cases of vanishing twins in connection with UFO contactees? Something strange is clearly going on here.
One area of UFO research that has received very little attention is the question: do extraterrestrials have names? The answer is, yes! In fact, there are quite a few cases in which extraterrestrials have provided names. Chapter Seven, An Alien by any Other Name, examines these types of cases and reveals some surprising and unexpected patterns of extraterrestrial names. Perhaps ETs are not so different from us!
Why are ETs here? Why do they take people onboard? What is the ET agenda? Clearly there are many reasons. Some people are taken onboard and healed. Others are taken to the engine room and shown how the craft is powered. Some are taken to the control room and shown how the craft is flown, or are even allowed to fly the craft. But one of the most common experiences is that people are given warnings about how we treat ourselves, each other, and the planet, or are even given prophecies and predictions of future events. Chapter Eight, You Have Been Warned, explores cases in which people have been given messages, warnings, and predictions about our planet and our future.
It's not just humans who are taken onboard. There are countless cases where ETs have gathered soil samples, plants, and animals of all kinds. And then there are the cases involving man’s best friend: dogs! Chapter Nine, Aliens Abducted My Dog, explores the surprisingly large number of cases in which dogs have been taken onboard a craft. These cases provide an interesting glimpse into a facet of UFO encounters that has never been analyzed before. Until now!
Many strange and unusual experiences happen when a person is taken onboard a UFO. Among the strangest and most fascinating are cases in which people are given an alien book of some kind. Chapter Ten, Alien Books, presents cases in which people have been given strange alien books to study and read. The cases show remarkable similarities and provide some incredible insights into the ET agenda, and how truly advanced the ETs are.
Ten chapters, fully sourced and footnoted, with cases reaching back decades up to the present day, with cases from all over the world, cases supported by firsthand eyewitness testimonies and a wide variety of evidence, each revealing different and unusual aspects of UFO behavior, each exposing the extraterrestrials’ agendas on our planet, each illustrated by award-winning UFO artist, Kesara, and each with a Behind the Scenes section explaining how each chapter came to be written.
The UFO phenomenon remains one of the most perplexing and persistent mysteries of modern times. However, each documented encounter brings us a greater understanding of the meaning of the ET presence on Earth. It might be accurate to say that many of the questions surrounding UFO contact have been answered such as who they are, where they come from and why they are here. It might be time to stop labeling UFOs as a mystery or a phenomenon. The evidence is mountainous and conclusive. We are not alone! UFOs are real. We are being visited by extraterrestrials. The evidence speaks for itself.
The cases in this book are among the strangest on record, and they also reveal startling truths about the nature of UFOs and the ETs themselves. So, get ready as we dive deep into the heart of the UFO phenomenon and explore these new and fantastic avenues of research into extraterrestrial contact. (read more)

You Have Been Warned
The most common onboard UFO experience is being physically examined by the ETs. The vast majority of contactees describe this sort of event. But the onboard UFO experience is so much more than this. People are taken to the engine room where the ETs explain how the craft are powered. Or they are taken to the control room and shown how the ETs navigate, or are even placed in the pilot seat and given the opportunity to fly the craft themselves. Even more often, they are taken to the observation deck, the walls become transparent, and the contactee is allowed to view the Earth, a field of stars, the moon, or even other planets. The list goes on. But among the most common is being given messages of some kind, usually warnings, predictions, and prophecies.
Researcher Thomas Bullard was the first to conduct a statistical study of the onboard UFO experience and outline their structure. When it comes to being given messages, Bullard calls this the “conference.” The conference covers many topics such as the ET agenda, why a person was contacted, where the ETs come from and more. As Bullard writes, “When the examination is finished the beings may talk to the witness for a while. A question-and-answer session makes up part of some examinations, but conference talk is different. The beings relax, slow down and warm to their captive, often taking him out of the examination room with its unhappy memories to another part of the ship. This change to a friendlier, more considerate atmosphere is striking, since the beings suddenly begin to treat their captive like a human being and even a guest, instead of like a guinea pig. They may field questions from the witness, apologize to him, explain themselves or warn him of approaching dangers to the Earth. Some of this content may turn up at any time from capture to departure, but the true conference formalizes the discussion with a particular time and place set aside, and concentrates the various topics into a single conversation. Conferences are all talk and no action… The conference divides into five possible parts: 1) Interrogation. The witness questions the beings or they question him. 2) Explanation. The beings reveal where they come from and why they are here. 3) Task Assignment. They charge the witness with some job to do. 4) Warning. They caution against certain human actions. 5) Prophecy. The beings leave the witness with specific predictions of future events.”
So, contrary to what many believe, the ETs do communicate, and they seem to be very concerned with humanity’s survival and the future of our planet. They speak very clearly and extensively on this subject.
“Warning and Prophecy,” writes Bullard. “These two categories are almost inseparably similar, though warnings admonish against general human actions while prophecies predict specific future events. Typical warnings caution against human technology, such as nuclear testing, genetic engineering, or pollution and waste of natural resources…In many cases the warnings are oblique references to war and destruction, perhaps a general reference to human aggressiveness or dangers of the present course of human behavior but usually movie images of nuclear explosions. These warnings sometimes border on prophecy while other messages cross the line entirely and predict approaching calamities.”1
Many researchers have come to the same conclusions, that one of the ET agendas is to warn of apocalyptic scenarios. Writes researcher John Mack MD, “This information concerns the fate of the Earth and human responsibility for the destructive activities that are taking place on it…scenes of the Earth devastated by a nuclear holocaust, vast panoramas of lifeless polluted landscapes and waters, and apocalyptic images of giant earthquakes, firestorms, floods, and even fractures of the planet itself are shown by the aliens…Virtually every abductee receives information about the destruction of the Earth’s ecosystem and feels compelled to do something about it…abductees experience powerful images of vast destruction, with the collapse of governmental and economic infrastructures and the total pollution and desertification of the planet.”2
Researcher and experiencer Karla Turner Ph.D. writes that many of the contactees she has worked with have received various warnings of all kinds. Writes Turner, “The future planetary events are also a major topic for the aliens, and it is interesting to note the phrases and images they use here…both Amy and Polly have been told of a coming ‘Armageddon,’ although Amy was told that Armageddon ‘Will not be as people think it will be.’…But for Anita and Lisa, the future changes are shown as disasters for which they must prepare to survive here on Earth.”3
Writes researcher Barbara Lamb MS, MFT, “Often the abductee is shown devastating holographic scenes of Earth such as nuclear destruction, massive earthquakes or other catastrophic views.”4
Whitley Strieber writes, “Contact with visitors is almost universally associated with catastrophic predictions. People are told of impending wars, of earthquakes, of meteors directed toward the Earth, of polar shifts and the coming of new ages of ice or heat. I myself have been show graphic depictions of the death of the atmosphere, not to mention the entire planet simply exploding.5
David Jacobs Ph.D., also has cases of this kind. He calls the imparting of this knowledge, “imaging.” Writes Jacobs, “In imaging, the Beings bring the abductee into a separate room, where she either lies on a table or sits on a chair. A Taller Being comes over to the abductee and stands next to her. She is shown a screenlike apparatus and images begin to appear on it. The scene is often abhorrent and disturbing -- death and destruction, calamity and war, atomic explosions, the end of the world, and so forth. It is extremely frightening and unsettling to the abductee, and she experiences great anxiety as the scene unfolds in front of her.”
Jacobs (and some other researchers) question the validity of these scenes as being predictive and speculate that perhaps the ETs impart this information to study the reaction of the witness. “The aliens seem to want to analyze the emotional effects of viewing the images,” Jacobs writes. “The scenes themselves do not appear to have any prescient or prophetic value.”6
Despite Jacobs’ assertions, most witnesses do feel that the scenes are predicting future events, including Jacobs’ own clients.
One case from Jacobs involves “Lynn Miller,” who after an experience in 1967 at age thirteen, became convinced that another world war would take place. She began to hoard canned food and developed an interest in studying World War II.7
Jacobs cites the case of Jason Howard who also received warnings of war. “During one abduction,” Jacobs writes, “he was taken into a room and viewed a screen displaying an atomic explosion on Earth.”
Under hypnosis, Jason Howard described the scene: “Something happens on the picture…A white fog that comes out from the upper left side of the Earth…Something’s wrong…it grows big fast, but only around maybe a fifth of the diameter.”
The ET explained that it was an atomic explosion which would happen in the future, a cataclysmic event. Jason’s encounter occurred in 1976, when he was seventeen years old. (read more)

Aliens Abducted My Dog
While the exact number of cases involving people who have been taken onboard a craft remains a mystery, many researchers estimate that it could be millions. Much rarer, however, are cases of dogs being taken onboard. And yet, it does happen. In this chapter, we shall examine some interesting cases in which people have been taken onboard with their dogs, or believe their dogs were taken by the ETs. The cases are presented chronologically and provide some very interesting insights into extraterrestrials.
Perhaps the earliest recorded case of this kind occurred on December 25, 1945 at a farmhouse on an island off the west coast of Ireland. The main witness was at the shoreline when a silver dome-shaped craft dropped from the sky and floated on the surface of the sea. It then rose up and landed in a field on top of two cows. Two humanoids dressed in black rubber suits emerged. The farmer’s dog ran up to them barking, and one of the beings held up a box with lights on it. The dog, apparently a hypnotized, then walked onboard the craft. Both beings returned inside and the craft took off. The dog was never seen again.1
In 1946, six-year-old Prospera Munoz and her sister Anita were walking near their home in Juanilla, Spain, when two strange humanoids approached and spoke with them. Later that same day, they had a second meeting with the beings, who offered to take her a ride on their craft. That night, Prospera awoke to find the beings in her bedroom. She agreed to let them take her onboard, along with her mastiff dog. The dog was terrified, but Prospera says the encounter was benevolent. She was physically examined, and saw herself and her sister on a computer-like screen. She was then taken on a trip around the planet before being returned to her bedroom. Other encounters followed. She forgot about these encounters until later in life.2
Another early case occurred on the evening of June 19, 1954 about fourteen miles south of Whangarei, New Zealand to Oscar Marinkovich. It was a pitch-black night as Oscar was drawn outside by the dogs acting up at his father’s farm.
“There was a terrible cry from the dog’s kennel,” Oscar says, “which was about thirty meters away. My first reaction was that it was being attacked by other dogs, so I grabbed a shotgun and went to the back door. My blood seemed to freeze and I was transfixed. I seemed to be paralyzed. I heard the dog choking and gasping, but the noise was coming from somewhere above me. I realized that either I was going mad, or that something had the dog above. I don’t know the distance because when I tried to look up, I was paralyzed with fear. I wanted to pull the trigger, but I couldn’t. Then I heard a thud, and immediately afterwards the dog bolted, howling pathetically up the driveway. Then I heard a slushing sound, like something rotating. The noise increased in volume to a high-pitched whining noise like a turbine reaching an intensity until, with a loud report or explosion and with a terrible rush of wind, whatever it was disappeared at a tremendous pace. I went back into the house shaking uncontrollably, my heart pounding at twice the normal rate at least.”
Oscar went to bed, thoroughly shaken up by what happened. The next morning, he found more strange evidence. “The dog’s chain lay in a heap near the kennel,” he says, “but his collar was five meters away, open, and undone. At the edge of the area was flattened grass with a circumference of about forty feet. I have no doubt in my mind that some type of craft had either hovered or landed, and that some hands must have untied the collar, because it is impossible for the dog to untie its own collar. The dog came back at about 4:00 p.m., crawling on its belly and whimpering with a terrified look in its eyes. Around its neck were scratch marks as though something had held it back by the neck. The dog could not be used as a cattle dog again. The following night, I went to see if it was all right and it sprang at me as though something held it back…the following night, I went to see if it was all right and it sprang as if to bite me, totally out of character.”
Oscar told his father and also called the police. Neither of them believed him.3
Several apparent dog abductions are unsuccessful. On the morning of November 6, 1957, twelve-year-old Everett Clark of Dante, Tennessee, got up at 6:30 a.m., to let out his Terrier dog, Frisky. That’s when he noticed a strange oblong object landed in a field about 300 feet from his home. It was still mostly dark out and he didn’t think much of it, but returning outside twenty minutes later to let Frisky back into the house, he saw that Frisky and some other dogs had ventured over to the object in the field. Everett saw two men and a woman standing next to the object. They grabbed a smaller dog who tried to bite him, causing the man to release the animal. David heard them talking in what sounded like German.
Everett approached the men, at which point they noticed him and motioned him to come closer. Everett didn’t go, but watched at the figures walk through the side of the craft, entering it without using any door. The craft then took off in a steep climb and was gone. Afterwards, it left a large imprint (five feet wide and twenty-four feet long) in the grassy field. The imprint was witnessed by reporters, and by Everett’s father.4
Around 6:00 p.m., on November 6, 1957, (only hours after the above case) John Trasco and his wife were in their home in Everittstown, New Jersey. John had just returned from his job at the local paper mill. He stepped out to feed their dog, King, a six-year-old, charcoal-colored, half-blind, bad-tempered, Belgian police dog, who they kept tied to the side of the house.
Shortly after John stepped outside, Mrs. Trasco heard King barking furiously. She looked outside and saw a strange reflection in the yard. Staring at it, she was amazed to see it was a glowing egg-shaped object, about nine to twelve feet long, hovering, and bobbing up and down.
Meanwhile, John also saw the craft, and approaching him from the direction of the craft was a strange humanoid figure. (read more)
